American English or British English

"Jennifer was admitted into(X the) hospital last night".Americans might think your educational level is low.
British English sometimes uses the before hospital and sometimes not.
eg.Tony is in hospital.(patient)
   Tony is in the hospital(particular hospital)
My mother is ill(British)
In British English,saying that someone is sick or someone is being sick only means that food has eaten leaves out throught their mouth.
but American usually says someone is throwing up/vomiting/upchucking/barfing,etc.
She's at a sales meeting.(BE)
She's in a sales meeting.(AE).

British English
I needn't work now.
I got him to type the letter.
Have I got to work now?
Fetch your shoes!
I suggested (that) she should come.
Go straight on.
I cant come as I have to work.
Mind the car!
He helped me to do my work.

American English

I dont have to work now.
I had him type the letter
Do I have to work now?
Go get your shoes!
I suggested (that) she come.
Go straight ahead.
I cant come because I have to work.
Watch out for the car!
He helped me do my work.
