Reading passage for UAS 2017

Dear Tara, Remember, we’ve had an appointment to go to a swimming pool after school. I’ll be waiting for you at home. After having lunch and taking a nap, prepare yourself to go.      Don’t forget to bring your swimsuit. We will go there by bicycle.

On the Beach Amir and Bima were SMP students in second year last year. They live in Bandung.It’s area surroundings by hilly and mountainous . They usually go to the beach during the holidays, they can choose one from many beautiful beaches in Indonesia. Some of the beaches on Java Island are Pantai Carita, the beaches in Pelabuhan Ratu, Pangandaran, Ancol, Parangtritis, while Sanur, and Kuta are in Bali.

The seasons in Indonesia are described as wet and dry. It is usually warm and humid with sunshine most of the time. However, it also rains frequently. Sometimes, the heavy rain causes flood these, in turn lead to traffic jams. Fortunately they are usually not very serious. Unlike some countries such as Thailand and the Philippines, the flood can cause great damage and hardship. Sometimes, crops are destroyed and lives are lost.           In the tropical climate like our country, we have air conditioner and fan at home, they help to keep us cool. On a bright sunny day, many people like to go to the       beach to have a cool dip in the water. It is great relief for the heat.           Most of Europe countries have four seasons. Foreign people from these countries visit Indonesia to get away from the cold winter. While we complain about the heat, they come here to enjoy the sun and return home with a nice condition.

Announcement OSIS will hold a story telling contest next month. We invite each class to represent a couple of boy and girl for joining it. The categories for judging will be : performance, pronunciation, fluency and content. Winner will receive prizes in the school ceremony. My name is Rio Aji  Wijaya. I am fourteen years old. I have a little brother. His name is Septa. He is four years younger than me. Two weeks ago Septa had a fever. My mother tried to cure him some medicine. The next day, septa wasn’t getting better. So she took septa to the hospital. In the hospital, the doctor examined Septa. Then, he said that septa had a dengue fever. My mother was very worried. My father tried to calm her down because septa’s illness was not very bad. “ there is still hope,” said the doctor to my mother. Every day the doctor looked after Septa and gave him the best treatment and medicines. At last, Septa got well after a week treatment. The doctor told us that the critical time had passed and Septa could go home soon.

Ramayana         One day,Rahwana kidnapped Sinta and took her to his palace in Alengka.Rama was so sad and tried any effort to look for his wife.He sent his best troops to search for his beloved wife,but Sinta remained unfound.         After four months passed,Hanoman,the king of white monkeys found Sinta crown in the  bushes. It was the clue that led them to Alengka. Rama was so happy and thanked to his best friend Hanoman about that and soon they went to Alengka with thousands of troops.         The battle was unavoidable,Rahwana’s troops were very powerful giants.They caused many of Rama’s soldiers got wounded.The battle spent two months.then after Rama got involved in the battle,the problem was solved.It was also because of Rama’s power,Rahwana the very powerfull king of giants was killed.         Rama felt so happy to see his beloved wife.They soon returned to Ayodya and lived happily forever.
